Amos Jenkins, Jr., 78, Paducah, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014, 10:00 pm, at his residence.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a trustee, chairman of the Benevolence Committee, and played the bass guitar for the choir. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War conflict.
Amos was employed with the VMV Paducahbilt in Paducah. He also was employed as truck driver and as a commercial pilot.
Amos was preceded in death by his wife, Theola Jenkins, his parents, Amos Jenkins, Sr. and Ella Mae Spikes Jenkins, a sister, and a nephew.
He is survived by, one son, James Horton; Rockford, IL; one daughter, Ella Horton, Rockford, IL; 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend's Barbara Burrage and Ronnie Coffie officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
