Alice Faye Cole Lovelace, daughter of the late James L. Cole and the late Alice Taylor Cole Johnson, was born on August 9, 1948 in Haywood County, Tennessee. Alice passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. At the time of her passing, she had acquired 76 years, 5 months, and 15 days of life.
Alice united with Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church upon moving to Paducah where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Alice later united with White Oak Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. where she served on the program committee.
Alice was a 1966 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and attended Paducah Community College. She retired from Bell South after thirty-two years of service as a sales representative. Upon retiring from Bell South, she worked many years as a Caregiver. One of her civic duties was a Poll Worker.
Alice was a family-oriented person who helped raise not only her children but also her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She enjoyed getting the family together on holidays and preparing holiday meals. She was a huge fan of the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers and she enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives. Her recreational activities included going to the Senior Center in Hendersonville where she enjoyed playing Mexican Train Dominos, the painting classes and the potlucks. One of her other her favorite past time was the casino, especially Harrah's Casino where she was a VIP.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Ernest T. Dickerson, John Dickerson and Thomas Dickerson; one sister; Laura Pullen Frazier and her grandson, De'Juan Lovelace.
Left behind to treasure precious memories are Two Daughters: Victoria Seriki of LaVergne, Tennessee, Cynthia Lovelace (Dwayne Wilcox) of Hendersonville, Tennessee; One Son: Clovis Lynn (Sara) Lovelace Jr.: of Fairfield, Ohio; Seven Grandchildren: Kevin (Maegan) Lovelace, Jasmine Lovelace, (Devon Berkness, Sr.) Khadijah Seriki, Khalyiah Seriki, Aubriana Lovelace, Braydynn Lovelace and Maliya Lovelace; One Great Grandchild: Devon Berkness, Jr. One Sister: Pearl Carter, One Goddaughter: Monica (Boyce) Chandler both of Paducah, Kentucky: Two God-grandchildren: Bianca Chandler and Alexis Chandler and Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James L. Hudson and Reverend Dr. Calvin R. Cole Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
